Invitation to Local Stakeholder Consultation

Grouped Local Stakeholder Consultation (LSC) for the certification of the project "Syntropic Agroforestry Coffee Project in Kericho County, Kenya" under the PoA "Global Syntropic Agroforestry Program"

The project is implemented under the Global Syntropic Agroforestry Program (GS 13053) and will be certified under the Gold Standard for the Global Goals framework.

Project Description
GrowGrounds ApS (GG) in conjunction with Agrisolutions Enterprises Limited (ASEL) would like to invite all interested stakeholders to the Local Stakeholder Consultation (LSC) for the project "Syntropic Agroforestry Coffee Project in Kericho County, Kenya". The project converts approximately 1,800 ha in total area of coffee plantations (monoculture or with a few trees) into agroforestry systems with different coffee farmers dispersed across Kericho County and the adjoining border areas of Kisumu County following syntropic farming principles.

Who Should Participate
In this context a Local Stakeholder Public Consultation will be carried out for all local, affected and interested stakeholders, including non-governmental organizations, women groups, research institutes institutes and organizations/individuals working on topics related to the project activity, policy makers on a national and county level, coffee farmers as well as in general for local people, communities and or representatives who are directly or indirectly affected by the project.

Project Details
The project will be certified as a Gold Standard carbon project under a broader framework, known in the carbon market as ‘Programme of Activities (PoA)’. This grouped stakeholder consultation is valid for the first project (real case Voluntary Project Activity, abbreviated as VPA) and other corresponding follow-up projects (regular VPAs) within Kericho County to be included in the Programme of Activities “Global Syntropic Agroforestry Program” within two years of the LSC.

A stakeholder consultative meeting has been planned to take into consideration various perspectives, address concerns, and ensure that the project benefits the community and brings no harm.

Invitation to Local Stakeholder Consultation

GrowGrounds ApS invites all relevant stakeholders to participate in a Grouped Local Stakeholder Consultation (LSC) for the project:

“Transforming Coffee Production Systems with Agroforestry to Store Carbon, Regenerate Ecosystems, and Improve Farmer Livelihoods in Mantiqueira de Minas, Brazil.

The project is implemented under the Global Syntropic Agroforestry Program (GS 13053) and will be certified under the Gold Standard for the Global Goals framework.

Project Objective
The initiative supports coffee farmers in transitioning from full-sun monoculture coffee production systems to diversified syntropic agroforestry systems. Through this transition, the project promotes:

  • Carbon sequestration and the generation of Gold Standard certified carbon credits
  • Improvement of soil health and water regulation<
  • Strengthening of biodiversity and ecological connectivity
  • Increased climate resilience and enhanced farmer livelihoods
This grouped consultation is valid for both the first Voluntary Project Activity (real case) and potential future project activities developed in the participating municipalities under the same Programme of Activities, in line with Gold Standard requirements.

Stakeholder Feedback Round for our project in Nyeri, Kenya

Following our Local Stakeholder Consultation on June 11th at Kiawamururu Coffee Factory, GrowGrounds invites all stakeholders to participate in the Stakeholder Feedback Round for our carbon project: "Syntropic Agroforestry Coffee Project in Nyeri County, Kenya", part of the Gold Standard Global Syntropic Agroforestry Program (PoA).

The project supports the transition of up to 50 ha of monoculture coffee plantations into diverse agroforestry systems with smallholder farmers across Nyeri County.
