"

The coffee industry is facing a series of issues, which we can only target by tackling the real problems at their roots. Farmers are getting poorer. And older. Nature is under pressure and increases in carbon emissions are threatening our climate. On the other hand, and combined, these challenges hold opportunities for change. This is the whole concept of GrowGrounds, and we see their approach as a severe and long-term investment in our value chain.

The Process

What does agroforestry do for nature, climate, farmers, and businesses?

1
Nature - Carbon-Positive Agroforestry
Step 01

Nature

We help coffee farmers convert to carbon-positive agroforestry by planting trees, training farmers and promoting organic farming.

2
Climate - Environmental Regeneration
Step 02

Climate

Through this conversion we improve soil health, enhance biodiversity, and capture CO2 turning coffee into a carbon-positive crop.

3
Business - Carbon Credit Generation
Step 03

Business

Captured carbon is converted into Carbon Reduction Units (CRU) for insetting or trading through climate partners.

4
Livelihoods - Farmer Prosperity
Step 04

Livelihoods

Farm improvements and new revenue streams, including 80% of the CRU's revenue flows back to the farmers enabling them to further improve farming practices and livelihoods.
