GrowGrounds is building the digital backbone of the coffee transition from mono-culture to agroforestry. In Nyeri, Kenya, our team hosts intensive training sessions with wetmill chairmen and managers, marking an important milestone in how smallholder coffee farmers are onboarded into our digital technology platform.
This platform connects on-the-ground climate action directly to global supply chains, ensuring deforestation-free coffee production, EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) compliance, and Gold Standard carbon certification – while empowering farmers with tools to grow nature and strengthen their livelihoods. At current, GrowGrounds is onboarding around 500 coffee farmers every week, registering plot-level data that will form the foundation for traceable, transparent, and climate-friendly coffee supply chains. and verifiable carbon outcomes.
From field data to EUDR compliance and beyond

The GrowGrounds platform is designed to make complex sustainability standards simple and actionable for farmers and cooperatives. Using a user-friendly mobile app with offline functionality, field teams collect key data directly from coffee plots, including:
- Geolocation and plot boundaries: essential for EUDR and Gold Standard traceability and deforestation-free verification
- Land tenure and legal documentation: ensuring compliance with local environmental and labor laws
- Production and harvest data: enabling transparent supply chain reporting and ESG insights
Once uploaded, data is processed via a relevant platform, where preliminary and final assessments ensure compliance with the EUDR. This creates a verified digital trail from farm to market. A trail that buyers, roasters, and regulators can trust.
Linking regenerative farming to carbon finance
Our technology does more than enable compliance. It links regenerative coffee farming and agroforestry systems directly to the carbon market. By integrating forest/non-forest satellite analysis and spatial data from 2015 to 2025, we can identify eligible areas for carbon removal projects and calculate overlaps between coffee plots and eligible land.

This data powers future Gold Standard certification, supports carbon farming projects, and connects smallholder farmers to new income opportunities through verified carbon removal credits. All while restoring biodiversity and building climate resilience.
Built on six core principles
The GrowGrounds platform is guided by six principles that ensure it meets the needs of every stakeholder:
